A newsletter tool that cannot send you a surprise bill.
Write in Markdown, send it to your list, and every issue also lives at a public URL. Ten dollars buys ten thousand emails, and you pay before you send.
- A send that would exceed your balance is refused, never billed
- No open-tracking pixel and no click rewriting — your links stay yours
- Every issue keeps a permanent public page and an RSS feed
The whole composer
# Issue 14 — the one about hedgerows
Morning. Three things worth your time this week, and a
correction to the last one.
## What I got wrong
How it works
-
Write the issue in Markdown
Plain text with the formatting you already know. No drag-and-drop builder, no template gallery, nothing that turns a paragraph into four nested tables.
-
Send it to your list
Every email carries a working unsubscribe link, one-click unsubscribe headers, and your postal address — enforced when the message is rendered, not left to whoever edits the template.
-
The issue stays online
Each one gets a permanent public URL and an RSS feed, so an issue can be linked to, quoted, and found later by someone who is not on your list yet.
No open tracking. No click rewriting.
There is no invisible pixel in your emails and your links are your links — not redirects through our domain. What we can report honestly is what actually happened to each message: sent, delivered, bounced, complained, unsubscribed.
Open rates have been largely fictional since Apple Mail began pre-fetching images on its readers' behalf. We would rather tell you that than report a number that means nothing.
Pricing
$10 = 10,000 emails
Prepaid, in one size. No free tier to be upgraded out of, no per-subscriber tier that quietly reprices you at 2,001 subscribers, no add-ons. Unused credit expires at the end of the month.
What that includes, and what happens when you run out
Where this is
Letter Kit is being built in the open, and its first two newsletters are ours — we are the first customer, on exactly the code a paying one would get. It is not open for self-serve signup yet. Tell us what you send and we will let you know when it is.
